Many Ways to Donate Today!

We need your help to build WAHC. Our most urgent needs include covering filing fees for nonprofit designation and funding for immediate necessities. Your support helps us meet these urgent needs and advance our work.

We are investigating issues involving multiple individuals regarding Section 8 terminations, eviction records that are preventing housing access, questionable property tax assessments, tax foreclosure, and charges for demolition and cleanup. This work requires court records, transcripts, property records, agency records, and Kansas Open Records Act requests, many of which incur costs. Your support makes these investigations possible.

We also need funds to help people replace lost birth certificates, state identification, and other vital documents necessary to access housing, employment, benefits, and services. Your donation helps remove barriers, promote stability, and can prevent housing loss.

Beyond individual cases, WAHC investigates broader issues affecting housing stability in Wichita and Sedgwick County. This includes encampment clearings, government contracts and spending, housing programs, public policies, and the actions of agencies and contractors. These investigations require records requests, court documents, research, and other expenses. Your gift helps us continue to uncover these issues and sustain this vital work.

Financial assistance also helps cover infrastructure costs, including our website, toll-free phone number, software, research tools, document services, and day-to-day applications. Every dollar helps WAHC continue this work. Whether you give through Givebutter, Venmo, Cash App, or Chime, your generosity helps cover the costs of investigating problems, advocating for individuals, removing barriers to housing, and building an organization that can sustain this work. Please choose the giving option that works best for you and help us keep going. Your generosity today helps us serve more people tomorrow.

The financial statement reflects WAHC's income and expenses through September 30, 2026. To date, Helen Reicher, Director of Organizational Engineering, has personally paid WAHC's operating expenses and startup costs. Helen cannot continue covering these expenses, including the filing fee for WAHC's nonprofit designation and ongoing operational costs.

Individuals need birth certificates, state identification, and other vital documents but lack the funds to obtain them. Your support can cover these costs, enabling individuals to obtain the documents needed to apply for housing, employment, benefits, and other services. Replacing these documents creates another barrier for those already experiencing housing instability.

We have nearly $100 in unpaid KORA requests and need contributions to cover them. These requests support two active cases: we are helping one person pursue eviction expungement and appeal their Section 8 termination, and helping another fight the property tax sale of their home to prevent housing loss. We may need additional records, documents, or filings as these cases progress, and funding will help us keep them moving forward.

As WAHC takes on more cases, these costs will grow. Funding means we can request needed records, obtain vital documents, or pay necessary fees without delaying work until resources become available, helping us move cases forward as soon as possible.

Your donation can make an immediate difference by helping us move these active cases forward now and respond to the needs of the people we are already working with.
